Diary Entry: My Last Week Before the School Concert

Monday, 12 May

I am Rosa. I play the flute in our school orchestra. This week feels important because our spring concert arrives on Friday evening. I want to remember every detail in this diary before the busy days pass too quickly.

Last Monday I arrived early and waited near the music room with three other students. Mrs Bell organized chairs and checked each instrument case before we started. We practiced the opening piece twice and corrected a rhythm mistake in the second movement. I listened carefully and watched the conductor count the first bars in silence.

Tuesday felt calmer at home. I copied notes from a friend who missed rehearsal and marked the pages I needed to study again. In the evening I practiced alone for half an hour while my brother finished homework at the kitchen table.
