A Storm Arrived During Our Picnic in the Park
I am Leo. Last Saturday my family planned a picnic in Riverside Park. The morning looked bright, so we packed food early and drove to the green hill near the river.
When we arrived, other families were already sitting on blankets under tall trees. Children were playing with balls while parents were opening baskets. We chose a spot close to the path and spread our blue blanket on the grass.
Mom was arranging sandwiches when dark clouds appeared above the trees. Dad was pouring juice into cups when the first cool wind touched our faces. Ana, my sister, was taking photos of ducks on the water.
While we were eating, thunder sounded far away over the hills. A jogger ran past and said rain was coming fast from the west. We were packing napkins when large drops began to fall on the blanket.
