A Librarian Read Stories at the Spring Fair
I am Priya. Last April our town library held a spring fair in the park beside the river. Mrs Cole, the head librarian, read stories to children under a white tent near the old oak tree.
The fair began at ten in the morning. Volunteers set up tables with books, puzzles, and small plants from local gardens. Mrs Cole wore a bright yellow scarf and carried a stack of picture books in a cloth bag on her shoulder.
Children came from three nearby schools. Some sat on blankets while others stood near the front row. Mrs Cole began with a story about a fox who lost his way in the forest and found friends near a stream. The children laughed when the fox caught a hat that blew off a bench.
