Looking Forward After a Busy Summer

I am Diego. This summer I worked at a hotel reception desk near the beach and studied English online three evenings per week. Guests arrived from many countries, and I practiced polite questions while I checked keys and answered phone calls.

July felt long because the hotel stayed full during a local festival. I learned names of nearby restaurants and tram routes by heart. My supervisor praised calm tone during busy check-ins and asked me to train a new colleague in August.

When shifts ended I walked home along the seafront and listened to podcasts about hospitality careers. Sometimes I stopped for fruit at a market stall and spoke with vendors in slow clear sentences. Those small talks improved confidence more than I expected.

In August my cousin visited from Madrid for ten days.
