My First Day at Work: Daunt Books
I work at Daunt Books. It is a famous bookshop in Marylebone, London. Today is my first day, and I have to learn the rules.
My manager gave me a list of duties. "You must arrive at eight o'clock every morning," she told me. "You must wear clean, smart clothes."
The shop has many old wooden shelves. "You should be careful with the books," my manager said. "You have to put them on the shelves gently."
Customers come here to find travel books. "You must always help the customers," she explained. "If they ask a question, you should find the answer."
There is a cafe near the shop. "You should take your break at one o'clock," she said. "But you must not eat food inside the bookshop."
At the end of the day, I have to clean the floor.
