My Cousin Is Taller but I Am Faster
I am Kai. My cousin Ava visits our town every summer. Ava is taller than me by six centimetres, and her hair is longer than mine, but I am faster than her on the school track.
Last July we joined a community sports day in the park. Ava said the morning air felt cooler than the air in her city. I said our grass field was softer than the hard court near her apartment.
We registered for different races. Ava chose the long jump because her legs are stronger than mine for jumping. I chose the hundred-metre race because my starts are quicker than hers. Our aunt said Ava is the tallest girl in our family photo.
Before the races we watched younger children play. Their races looked shorter than ours, and their cheers were louder than the music from the speaker.
