Our Team Played Better Than Last Season
I am Jordan. I play basketball in a community league with friends from my street. Last Saturday our team faced Riverside, and the match felt more intense than our usual games.
In the first quarter we moved faster than Riverside on defense. Our captain Mia said our passes were sharper than last month, although our shooting was still weaker than we hoped. Riverside's center was taller than anyone on our bench, so we planned shorter passes than the long throws we tried in practice.
At half time the score was closer than we expected. The coach said our energy was higher than in the opening minutes, but our mistakes were more costly than simple misses. He asked for calmer decisions near the basket.
After the break our guard Leo played better than he did all season.
