Next Year Will Be Busier but Maybe More Satisfying
I am Omar. In December my manager and I reviewed my goals for the next twelve months. We talked about projects, training, and balance at home. The conversation was longer than last year's meeting, but also more honest than I expected.
My current role is more technical than it was in January. I handle more client calls than before, and the reports are more detailed than the summaries I wrote in spring. I must improve my presentation skills because senior meetings are more frequent than monthly updates.
The company will open a smaller office closer to my home next summer. The commute will be shorter than my daily ride now, and the new desk area looks brighter than our basement floor. I should visit the space before I assume it is quieter than the main building.
