An Email to My Cousin About the Week
Hi Emma,
I hope you are well and that your new job in Bristol is going smoothly. I wanted to write because last week was busy here, and I think you will enjoy the small stories.
On Monday I started a new shift at the bookshop near the station, and the manager showed me how to scan orders and pack parcels. The work is tiring but interesting because I meet readers with very different tastes. One customer bought three poetry books and two cookbooks, and she talked about her book club for twenty minutes.
Tuesday felt quieter at home, and I cleaned the flat while listening to a podcast about travel. I found old photos from our trip to Wales, and I smiled because we laughed a lot on that rainy hike.
