Planning a Community Bake Sale

Our street committee met last month, and we decided to organize a bake sale for the local animal shelter. Mrs Cole offered her garage, and Mr Ellis agreed to print posters because he owns a small design program on his laptop.

We chose a Saturday in April, and we asked neighbours to bring cakes, cookies, and savoury pies. Some people felt unsure, but others volunteered quickly because they love baking and they wanted to help homeless dogs and cats.

I made a list of tasks, and my friend Nina created a message for the community chat. We needed tables, price labels, and a cash box, and we borrowed chairs from the church hall because the garage is narrow but long.

On Friday evening four families delivered trays of food, and the smells of cinnamon and chocolate filled Mrs Cole's garage.
