Two Friends Compare Their Busy Autumn Weeks

I am Clara. Last Sunday I met my friend Ben at the café near the station at four in the afternoon. We ordered tea because the air felt cold at dusk in late October. Ben smiled and said his autumn looked chaotic but fun.

Ben works at a design studio on weekdays and often stays until seven at night. On Monday he had a client call at nine in the morning and a presentation at three. In the first week of November he travels to Berlin on the eighth for a conference.

I teach language classes at the community centre on Tuesday at six and on Thursday at five. On Wednesday I prepare lessons at home in the morning and visit my mother at two. In September I started a new evening group because many students work at offices until five.
