Two Years at the Language School
Pursuing formal academic language training provides international students with structural grammar foundations, conversational confidence, and lifelong cross-cultural friendships. This week, I am celebrating a personal educational milestone as I complete my second full year at the Cambridge International Language Institute in the city center. Looking back at my initial placement interview helps me appreciate how profoundly my communication skills and vocabulary have developed since I first walked through the academy's welcoming doors.
Before enrolling in the advanced diploma program in September 2024, I had studied English informally for several years using mobile smartphone applications, podcasts, and recorded audiobooks. However, I had struggled with speaking fluently in professional settings because I had lacked regular conversational interaction with native speakers. My academic writing had also remained hesitant, imprecise, and repetitive. Enrolling in structured classroom courses provided the rigorous pedagogical framework, grammar exercises, and teacher feedback that I desperately needed.
