Life After University

Interviewer: Thank you for joining us today, Jordan. You graduated four years ago. How has your career developed since you had left campus?

Jordan: I had entered journalism because writing had always felt natural. My first role at a regional paper had taught me speed and accuracy I had not practised in student essays.

Interviewer: Had you planned to stay in local news?

Jordan: Not permanently. After two years I had applied to a national magazine that had covered technology and culture. Editors had liked pitches I had submitted on spec. Since then I have written features that have reached readers I had never imagined as a student.

Interviewer: Have you specialised in any particular topics?

Jordan: Digital ethics has become my focus. I had interviewed researchers whose work had influenced policy debates before lawmakers had held public hearings.
