From Intern to Manager

I had arrived at Hartwell Logistics as a nervous intern seven years ago, carrying a laptop I had borrowed from the university career office. My supervisor had assigned simple data tasks because I had lacked experience with supply chain software the company had used since its expansion into European markets.

Those first months had taught me more than lectures had offered. Colleagues had answered questions I had hesitated to ask during meetings. When I had made errors in shipment reports, team members had corrected them quietly and had shown me shortcuts that manuals had not included.

After graduation I had accepted a junior analyst role at the same firm because mentors had encouraged me to stay. Projects had increased in complexity, and deadlines had tightened during periods when clients had demanded faster delivery schedules. I had learned to prioritise tasks that had affected customers most directly.
