A Weekend That Connected Past and Present
Saturday began with rain, so I stayed indoors and sorted boxes I had ignored since my last move. Among old school reports I found a photo of my cousins at a lake we visited every August when I was a child.
I called my aunt Rosa and asked whether she remembered those trips. She laughed and said she had kept a picnic blanket we had used for years. We talked for twenty minutes, and she invited me to visit next weekend.
In the afternoon I met friends at a café near the station. Ben told us about a concert he attended last night, while I explained that I have recently started piano lessons again. Mia mentioned a novel she has almost finished, and we ordered cake to share.
Later I walked home through streets I knew well.
