Languages That Are Spoken in Our Office
I am Nina. I work in a customer support centre in Dublin. Every day, many languages are spoken in our open-plan office, and messages are answered in more than six languages.
English is used most often because it is understood by nearly every team member. Calls from Europe are handled in English first, and complex cases are transferred to specialists when needed. Scripts are written in clear English so new staff are trained quickly.
Spanish is spoken by four colleagues on the second row. Emails from Latin America are routed to them, and complaints are resolved with polite, formal phrases. Training materials are translated into Spanish each quarter.
French is heard near the window desks. Clients from West Africa and France are assisted there, and invoices are checked before refunds are approved.
