Rules That Are Posted in the Public Library

Our city library is calm and bright. Near the entrance, a large sign is posted so every visitor sees the rules before walking inside. Additional notices are displayed on each floor.

Silence is requested in the reading room. Mobile phones are switched off or set to silent mode, and loud conversations are moved to the café area. Staff are trained to remind visitors politely when noise is made.

Books are borrowed with a membership card. Each item is scanned at the desk, and a return date is printed on the receipt. Overdue fines are charged when books are kept longer than allowed.

Reference books are marked with red labels and are not taken home. They are used only inside the building, and pages are protected with clear covers. Maps and dictionaries are shelved near the enquiry desk.
