What Witnesses Said After the Minor Incident
On Monday evening a delivery van scraped a parked car on Riverside Road. No one was injured, but several residents witnessed the moment and later spoke to the driver and a local reporter. I compiled their statements for the community bulletin.
Mrs Palmer said that she was watering plants when she heard brakes. She told the driver that he had been driving too quickly for a narrow street, and she said that the contact sounded like a short sharp bump. She told me that she had noted the van registration immediately.
Teenager Yusuf said that he was crossing at the corner. He told the reporter that the van had swerved slightly to avoid a cyclist, and he said that the parked car was partly on the pavement. He told us that the cyclist had continued without stopping.
