A Week When Deadlines and Decisions Overlapped

Last week felt unusually busy at our design agency. Three client presentations were scheduled, and a internal audit was announced on Monday morning. If mistakes were found, bonuses might be reduced, so everyone checked files carefully.

On Tuesday, draft layouts were sent to a fashion retailer. Feedback was expected within forty-eight hours, and revisions were prepared in advance. Our manager said we could leave early only if all comments were addressed before Friday.

Wednesday brought a problem with printing. Colours were not reproduced accurately, and new proofs were requested urgently. The supplier apologised and promised corrected samples would be delivered on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a training session on modals was attended in the afternoon. We discussed how permission might be refused politely and how suggestions could be expressed without sounding rude. Those phrases were useful when we spoke with the unhappy client later.
