An Email About the Community Garden
Dear Residents, On behalf of the Greenview Residents Association, I would like to update everyone on our ongoing community garden revitalization project. Over the past six weeks, voluntary financial contributions and dedicated weekend work parties have transformed the abandoned vacant lot behind the community library into a vibrant horticultural space with raised vegetable planters, compost bins, and accessible stone pathways.
Our initial target was to prepare twenty individual vegetable plots for local families before the official spring planting season started. However, unseasonably cold temperatures, frosty mornings, and persistent rain delayed our masonry and soil preparation work by nearly two weeks. Fortunately, twenty enthusiastic neighbourhood volunteers contributed extra evening hours to spread organic compost and install sturdy perimeter wooden fencing around the perimeter.
Moreover, the local municipal council recently approved our grant application for an eco-friendly rainwater harvesting system, solar garden lights, and automated irrigation hoses.
