Travel Blog Post on a Missed Connection
Blog title: When One Delay Rewrites the Whole Itinerary
I planned a straightforward journey: train to the airport, flight to Lisbon, evening stroll by the river. If the first train had departed on time, I would have reached check-in with an hour to spare. Instead, signalling problems were reported, carriages were held outside the station, and announcements were made only in a whisper I could barely hear.
Staff advised passengers not to leave the platform because updates would follow. I asked whether buses were being arranged. The answer was vague, and many travellers wondered whether connections would be missed across the network.
When movement resumed, my suitcase was already tagged for priority delivery. I ran, sweated, and reached the security queue exactly when boarding closed. The agent told me that policies could not be waived and suggested that I rebook through the airline desk.
