At the Airport They Asked Whether I Had Packed Alone
I am Sofia. Last month I flew to Lisbon for a design conference, and airport staff asked a long chain of security and customs questions that I later summarized for my team chat. Travel days produce dense reported questions and firm commands that travellers repeat to colleagues who meet them abroad.
At the check-in desk, the agent had asked whether I had checked in online. I told my team that she had asked if I needed to check a second bag. I had said that one suitcase was enough for four days.
She had asked where I had booked my seat. I explained that I had chosen an aisle place near the front. The agent had asked whether I required assistance with mobility, and I had declined politely.
Security staff had asked me to place my laptop in a separate tray.
