What the Mediator Asked Both Neighbours to Do

I am Priya. A noise dispute on our street escalated until the housing association sent a mediator, and I later explained the session to a friend who lives in another district. Community mediation combines reported questions with firm requests that neighbours repeat when tensions flare again.

Mediator Mr Ellis had asked whether both parties had received the agenda by email. He told residents to speak one at a time. He asked if anyone had recorded previous conversations without consent, and both neighbours denied doing so.

He had asked where the loud music had originated on Friday night. Mr Carter said the sound had come from his garden speakers. Ms Doyle had asked whether the bass had vibrated through shared walls, and Mr Ellis noted the point without assigning blame.

Mr Ellis had asked how long the gathering had continued.
