Tom Works at a Café
Tom works at a small café downtown. He starts work at seven in the morning. Tom always arrives early. He unlocks the front door and turns on the lights. The café opens at eight.
Tom prepares the coffee machine. He fills it with fresh water. He grinds coffee beans for espresso. His coworker Sara arrives at seven thirty. Sara washes cups and plates in the kitchen.
Every morning, Tom serves customers at the counter. He takes orders politely. He writes each order on a small pad. A regular customer named Paul comes in daily. Paul always orders a large coffee and a muffin.
Tom heats pastries in the oven. He places croissants on white plates. Sara makes sandwiches for lunch orders. She cuts bread and adds cheese. She wraps each sandwich in paper.
The café gets busy at nine o'clock.
