Evenings with My Family
I come home from school at four o'clock. I take off my shoes at the door. I wash my hands in the bathroom. My little sister Lily plays with blocks on the floor. She builds a tall tower every afternoon.
Dad arrives home at five. He puts his keys on the table. He asks about our day at school. I tell him about my English test. Lily shows him her drawing. Dad smiles and hangs the picture on the fridge.
Mom starts dinner in the kitchen. She cuts vegetables and boils pasta. I set the table with plates and forks. Lily carries napkins to each chair. We help Mom before we sit down.
At six, we eat dinner together. Dad talks about his office. Mom tells us about her walk in the park. I eat chicken and rice.
