Five Simple Rules at Windermere

My family spends one week near Windermere every summer. Windermere is in the Lake District. It is England's largest lake. We stay in a small cottage near the water.

Our first rule is easy: we do not rush in the morning. We eat breakfast slowly and look at the water. The day starts quietly.

Our second rule is about screens. We do not use phones at breakfast. My brother does not check games. He talks to us and draws in his notebook.

Our third rule is for the boat. Mum does not carry a big bag. She takes a light coat, some water, and the tickets. The small bag is easy to hold.

At lunch, we sit on the shore with a picnic. We do not feed ducks. We watch them on the water, but our bread stays in the picnic box.
