Working at a Data Center in Sweden
My name is Maya. I am an engineer at a large data center in Sweden.
I don't work in a normal office. I work inside a big building full of computers. My job is to keep the machines safe.
The building doesn't get hot. The computers make a lot of heat, but we use cold air from the outside to cool them. We don't use normal air conditioning.
Visitors don't enter the main computer rooms. The machines hold important information. We keep the doors locked at all times.
Our data center is very green. We don't use dirty energy from coal. We get all our electricity from water and wind.
The machines don't sleep at night. They run all day and all night. They don't stop for weekends or holidays.
My manager doesn't work at night.
