Your Card and Our Small Birthday Table
Dear Jack,
Thank you very much for your lovely birthday card and your kind wishes. Your handmade drawing on the envelope made me smile.
Yesterday, we celebrated my birthday at home. Our dining room looked festive with paper lanterns and colorful balloons. My mother baked a chocolate cake, and my father lit its twelve bright candles. My brother sang his favorite birthday song, and my sister gave me her gift: an exciting mystery novel.
We sat around our small dining table and ate cake together. Later, my grandparents called to share their warm congratulations. It was my favorite birthday celebration.
