I. The Mother Goat and Her Seven Kids
An old mother goat lives in a little house near a big forest. She has seven little goats. A little goat has a special name: it is a kid. Maybe you know the word “kid” for a child. That is right too. But in this story, a kid is a little goat.
The mother goat loves her seven kids very much. She loves them as every mother loves her children.
The seven kids are all small and white. But they are not all the same.
The oldest kid is a little bigger than the others. She is a serious little goat. She likes to help her mother, and she likes to tell the others what to do.
The second kid is sleepy. He loves the big soft bed. He sleeps in the morning, and he sleeps after lunch too.
