An Interview with a Market Seller in Marrakech

Tariq sells spices in a busy market in Marrakech. We asked him a few questions about his daily life and his food.

"Do you wake up early?"
"Yes, I do. The market opens at seven o'clock, so I wake up at five."

"Does your wife work in the market too?"
"No, she doesn't. She works in a small bakery near our house. She makes fresh bread every morning."

"Do tourists buy a lot of spices from your shop?"
"Yes, they do. They love the colors and the smells. But they do not always know how to cook with them."

"Do you eat spicy food at home?"
"Yes, we do! My family loves spicy food. Does everyone like spicy food? No, they don't, but we think it is delicious."
