Books I Have Read This Year
Cultivating a dedicated daily reading habit offers an enriching escape from digital distractions, deepens empathetic understanding, and expands personal intellectual horizons. At the beginning of January, I made a personal commitment to read at least twenty books across diverse genres before New Year's Eve. As autumn arrives, I am delighted to report that I have read sixteen captivating volumes so far, ranging from historical fiction to contemporary neuroscience.
Among the novels I have finished, two literary works have left an indelible impression on my imagination. I have read a sweeping historical saga set in fourteenth-century Florence, which vividly brought medieval craftsmanship and guild politics to life. I have also explored a gripping mystery novel set in the remote Scottish Highlands, where the atmospheric descriptions of windswept lochs and ancient pine forests kept me reading late into the night.
