What Might Happen on Our Weekend Trip
Planning an adventurous weekend road trip with friends always involves excitement and an element of unpredictable spontaneity. Next Saturday, my friends Liam, Sophie, and I are driving to the Lake District for three days of mountain hiking and lakeside camping. Because northern mountain weather can change rapidly within an hour, we have spent the past week discussing various possible scenarios that might happen during our outdoor journey.
First, we examined the regional meteorological forecast, which predicts mixed conditions with occasional heavy rain showers, breezy winds, and sunny intervals. It might rain heavily on Saturday afternoon, so we could hike along lower forest trails instead of climbing high rocky peaks. Alternatively, if the morning clouds clear early, we may rent open Canadian canoes and paddle peacefully across Lake Windermere before sunset.
Accommodation requires equal flexibility because holiday campsites fill up rapidly during holiday weekends.
