Checking In Online Before Our Holiday Flight
Modern air travel offers unprecedented speed and global reach, yet preparing for international flights requires methodical logistical coordination. Last Thursday, my sister and I prepared for a long-awaited summer holiday to the Mediterranean coast. Because modern airlines charge hefty administrative penalties for counter boarding passes, we made sure to check in online twenty-four hours before departure.
Sitting together at the kitchen table, we logged in to the airline app and selected window seats over the wings. We had to type in passport details carefully, double-checking expiry dates to avoid travel disruptions. Once our digital boarding cards were downloaded to our smartphones, we printed out paper copies as backup, making sure that our battery levels would not jeopardize boarding.
Next, we had to pack up our luggage, weighing our carry-on backpacks on bathroom scales to comply with strict cabin restrictions.
