A Calm Voice, an Angry Line
Lena wanted a warning before the caller asked to cancel: the model should say he was angry. That was the whole point of this trial of emotional AI. A tired agent could slow down. If the label was wrong, he would leave still sounding polite, and the desk would never see what it had missed.
She played the recording once. Pitch stayed level, intensity did not rise, and the pauses were neat. She also had the spectral shape of the voice in front of her. On that set of clues the model marked the call calm. Then she opened the chat that had arrived with the audio. "Wonderful. Another hour of my evening, and all of it free." Word by word, the line is thanks. Spoken by a person, it is the opposite. Sarcasm sits in that gap, and irony sits there too.
