A School Day with Mia
Mia goes to school every weekday. She always leaves home at seven forty-five. She walks to the bus stop with her friend Jake. Jake carries a blue backpack. They talk about their classes on the way.
The school bus arrives at eight o'clock. Mia rides the bus with other students. She sits near the window. Jake sits behind her and reads a comic book. The bus drops them off at the school gate.
Mia enters the building and walks to her locker. She opens her locker and takes out books. Her first class starts at eight thirty. The teacher, Mr. Brown, greets the class. He writes the date on the board.
In English class, Mia reads a short story aloud. She answers questions from the teacher. Jake raises his hand and shares his ideas.
