The Morning Routine of a Red Squirrel
Barnaby is a small red squirrel. He lives in a large oak tree in a quiet forest. He wakes up very early every day. The sun comes up at six o'clock. Barnaby stretches his legs and looks around the forest.
He is very hungry in the morning. He runs down the tall tree quickly. He searches for fresh nuts and seeds on the green ground. He finds a big acorn under a leaf. He eats his breakfast on a safe branch.
After breakfast, Barnaby cleans his red fur. He washes his face with his paws. Then, he jumps from his tree to another tree. He plays with other young squirrels until noon. They run up and down the trees together.
At midday, the sun is very hot. Barnaby goes back to his comfortable nest.
