The Miller family lives in a beautiful house with a large, colorful garden in Seattle. Both parents are very creative people. Mr. Miller is an illustrator who designs children's books, and Mrs. Miller is a sculptor who works with clay. Their weekends are always peaceful and full of art.

On Saturday mornings, they do not wake up early. They usually get up at eight o'clock and make breakfast together in their bright kitchen. While they eat scrambled eggs and fresh fruit, they talk about their creative projects for the day. Do you want to paint in the garden today, Emily? Mr. Miller asks his daughter. Yes, I do! Emily says happily.

After breakfast, everyone starts their favorite activities. Mr. Miller sets up his easel under a tall oak tree and paints the flowers. Emily sits near him and draws a picture of their fluffy cat, Oliver.
