Last Saturday at the Town Market

I am Sara. I am fifteen years old. Last Saturday I visited the town market with my aunt Rosa. We planned to shop for fruit and gifts.

We arrived early when the stalls opened. Vendors arranged baskets of apples and pears. The market looked colourful and busy. Rosa smiled and waved at a friend.

We walked between rows of flowers and bread. I smelled fresh herbs near the cheese stall. Rosa talked to a farmer about honey. The farmer explained how bees worked in his fields.

I picked oranges and placed them in a cloth bag. Rosa checked the price on a small sign. She counted coins and handed money to the vendor. The vendor thanked us and packed the fruit.

We stopped at a craft table with handmade cards. I looked at drawings of birds and rivers.
