A Visit to the Hoover Dam
Last week, our travel group visited the Hoover Dam in the United States. The dam is an enormous concrete structure between Nevada and Arizona.
A guide led our group along a wide walkway on top of the dam. Down below, we saw the Colorado River and an electric power station. The river looked green and calm between the steep desert canyon walls. Behind the wall, Lake Mead forms an immense water reservoir.
In the visitor center, we watched an educational video about the history of the project. The exhibition showed how thousands of brave workers built the famous dam in the 1930s. It was an unforgettable excursion.
Do you know about famous engineering monuments? Would you like to visit a large dam or bridge?
