A Walk Through the Market
There is a big market in our town every Saturday morning. It starts at eight o'clock on the main square. Vendors arrive early and set up their stands in long rows on the square. By nine o'clock, everything is in its place and the market is open.
The vegetable stands are in the first row on the left side of the square. Tomatoes, carrots, and peppers sit in baskets on the tables. The cheese seller works in a white tent at the center of the market. She keeps her best cheeses in a glass box on the counter.
I go to the market with my father on Saturday mornings. We start at the bread stand at the entrance. The baker puts fresh loaves on a long wooden shelf in front of his stand. He puts sweet rolls on the shelf below.
