The Lost Cat

Our cat Biscuit went missing on a Tuesday afternoon. She had been sleeping on the sofa in the living room at lunchtime. When I came home at four o'clock, she was not in her usual spot.

I looked everywhere in the house. She was not in the kitchen under the table. She was not on the chair in my room. She was not in the bathroom, and she was not under the coat rack in the hallway.

My mother and I went outside to look for her. We called her name in the garden. We looked under the bushes at the side of the house. We checked behind the shed at the back of the garden.

I asked our neighbor Mrs. Brown if she had seen Biscuit. She said she had seen a small orange cat sitting on the wall at the end of the lane at noon.
