A Rainy Afternoon at the Cafe
I am Daniel. Yesterday I met my sister Clara at a small cafe on Bridge Street. The rain was falling steadily when I opened the door.
Clara was reading a magazine by the window. She was not looking up when I arrived because the street outside was interesting. Was she waiting long? She was waiting twenty minutes, but she did not complain.
While I was ordering coffee, the waiter was wiping tables near the door. The machine was making a loud noise, and the room smelled of fresh bread. Did I want cake with my drink? I did not want cake because I ate lunch an hour ago.
We were sitting together when Clara was telling me about her new course. She was studying design three days a week while she was working in a shop on Saturdays.
