Two Friends Compare Their Morning Commute

I am Emma. Yesterday after work my friend Jake and I sat in the campus café and compared our morning commutes. We both started at seven, but our routes and surprises were very different.

Jake: I was leaving my flat when I remembered I did not lock the window in the kitchen. I ran back upstairs and checked every room before I caught the tram at seven twelve.

Emma: I was already on the bus when you sent that message. I was reading notes for our meeting while an old man was telling stories to his granddaughter near the front seat.

Jake: On the tram I was standing near the doors when a tourist asked about the stop for the museum. I was explaining the route when we were stopping at a red light much longer than usual.
