A Busy Week at the Community Centre
I am Dan. I volunteer at the Oak Lane community centre on weekday afternoons. Last week felt especially busy because three different groups booked rooms for classes, meetings, and a small concert on Friday evening.
On Monday I arrived early and unlocked the main door while the cleaner finished the hall. A yoga teacher came at nine and set mats in rows near the windows. I helped her carry water bottles from the kitchen and wrote the room schedule on the whiteboard in the corridor.
Tuesday brought a language class for adults who moved to our town recently. The teacher spoke slowly and wrote new words on the board. I sat at the back and sorted leaflets about local buses and library cards for students who asked questions after the lesson.
On Wednesday a youth club met in the small room upstairs.
