Two Friends Compare Their Autumn Plans

I am Felix. On Thursday evening my friend Zoe came to my flat with tea and a folder of travel brochures she collected at the library. We sat at the kitchen table and compared plans for the next three months while rain tapped the window.

Zoe works part-time at a bakery and studies photography on Mondays and Wednesdays. She showed me photos from a weekend trip to the hills where fog covered the valleys at sunrise. I told her about my cousin's wedding in October and how my aunt asked me to help choose music for the reception.

We talked about money first because both of us wanted short breaks without large expenses. Zoe said she saved a little each week since June. I explained that I paid for a new laptop in July and needed a cheaper plan for travel.
