A Busy Saturday in Town

I am Leo. Last Saturday I went to town with my mom and my sister Mia. We needed bread, milk, and fruit, so we walked to the market near the station. The street was busy but friendly because the sun was warm and people smiled at each other.

First we visited the bakery and bought two loaves and four rolls. The baker spoke quickly but he was kind because he remembered our order from last week. Mia wanted a sweet pastry, and I chose a plain roll with seeds on top.

Next we crossed the road and entered the green grocer. Apples, pears, and bananas filled the front tables, and the smell of fresh herbs came from the back room. Mom picked tomatoes and lettuce, but she did not buy peppers because Mia does not like them.
