Diary: A Rainy Day at Home

Monday, 14 October

Rain tapped the windows all morning, and the sky stayed grey until four in the afternoon. I planned to jog in the park, but I stayed inside because the paths looked slippery and cold.

I made tea and opened my notebook, and I wrote ideas for a short story about a bus driver and a lost dog. The plot felt simple, but the characters became interesting because I gave them small habits and favourite foods.

At lunch I called my grandmother, and she told me about her garden and the tomatoes she picked yesterday. She sounded cheerful, but she missed company because my uncle travels for work this month. I promised to visit on Saturday, and I felt glad because our calls always lift my mood.
