Letter About Joining the Reading Club
Dear Ms Turner,
My name is Daniel, and I am a second-year student at Riverside College. I read the notice on the library board, and I would like to join the reading club that meets on Thursday evenings.
I enjoy historical novels and short essays, and I finished three books last term for my literature module. Group discussion helps me understand characters better, but I sometimes stay quiet because I worry my ideas are too simple. A friend told me your club is welcoming, and she joined last year because she wanted a friendly space away from exam stress.
I can attend meetings twice a month, and I am free after six o'clock on Thursdays. I work part time at a cafe on weekends, but my manager changes shifts easily because I always ask early.
