Fixing the Traffic Lights\n\nI am an engineer in a large city. My job is important because I fix the traffic lights. Yesterday, the police called me at six in the morning.\n\n"The traffic lights on Main Street are broken," a police officer said. "Can you fix the problem quickly?" \n\nI drove my van to the street. The lights were completely dark, and the cars moved very slowly. A young police officer was there, so I asked him for details. He said the lights stopped working after a heavy storm. \n\nI opened the metal control box on the corner and looked inside it. The storm damaged the main power cable. I took a new cable from my van and connected the wires carefully. It took an hour, but finally, the green, yellow, and red lights turned on.\n\nThe drivers were happy.
