What My Family Loves Cooking Together
I am Priya. In our kitchen my family loves cooking together on Sunday afternoons. Mom enjoys planning menus, and Dad likes tasting sauces before we serve dinner. My brother Arun hates washing dishes, but he loves chopping onions when Dad shows him how to hold the knife safely.
Mom loves making lentil soup with carrots and cumin, and she likes adding fresh coriander on top before we eat. I enjoy rolling small bread balls with her, and I like watching dough rise near the warm oven. Arun prefers baking simple cookies, and he loves decorating them with coloured sugar.
Dad hates wasting food, so he likes using leftover rice in fried dishes with eggs and peas. I love smelling garlic in the pan, and Mom enjoys stirring slowly because she says good soup needs patience.
